2025/26 DALC Annual Report published 13/10/2026

We’re pleased to publish our 2025/26 Annual Report highlighting another productive year of supporting, representing, and strengthening local councils in Devon.

The report reflects on a year marked by continued change within the local government sector, with parish and town councils playing an increasingly important role in supporting their communities and shaping the future of local service delivery.

Throughout 2025/26, DALC remained committed to providing high-quality advice, training, policy support and advocacy for our member councils. A central theme of this year’s report is the evolving local government landscape and the opportunities and challenges presented by local government reorganisation and devolution. DALC has worked closely with councils throughout this period, ensuring members have access to timely information, practical guidance and opportunities to engage with developments affecting their communities.

Rebecca Walker, Chief Executive of DALC, said:

“Our 2025/26 Annual Report tells a story of growth, engagement and resilience. During the year, DALC supported 351 member councils, answered more than 1,200 enquiries, delivered 47 training courses and hosted a range of events to help councils navigate an increasingly complex and changing environment. As we look ahead to whatever comes next with the changing local government landscape in Devon, we remain committed to championing the interests of Devon’s local councils and ensuring they have the tools, knowledge and confidence to serve their communities effectively. I would like to sincerely thank our members, partners, directors and staff team for their continued support and dedication.”

The Annual Report provides an overview of DALC’s activities, achievements and priorities, while recognising the collective contribution of member councils during the year.
