It was recommended for clerks but all welcome. I think those of us attending as councillors will have found it equally essential viewing as any of the clerks. Personally, I found the amount of information, sound advice and things to consider was at once mesmerising and alarming in equal measure but above all, very, very helpful.
Even though it may be our clerks who have to tackle all this in the first instance, we councillors can support our staff by having some understanding of the issues involved as well as the practical steps that can be taken now and which need to be carefully considered – every step of the way.

If you’re part of a very small council with a tiny budget and precept and no assets, you may not be directly affected but there’s a very good chance that your nearest town whose services your residents use, will be considerably affected. You might want to know what’s going on and what might happen in your local town. If you’re part of a council with any assets or services that might come your way, this is for you. Please watch!
